Very rarely do I decide to wear an outfit based on the make up I am wearing. Normally the Outfit decides on the make up I would wear. On this day I was keen to use my metallic green eye shadow (A Christmas sale purchase) along with metallic green exaggerated eyeliner. We were heading for a quiet dinner to one of our favorite restaurants. Today Mumbai to Melbourne brings to you its first Beauty post along with a Fashion post.
This was my outfit of the day – Vogue the Brogue- Vested Interests.
I am wearing a printed clinched waist dress with a pleated full skirt. I think clinched waist dresses add an illusion of a perfect hourglass figure. I normally wear this dress to work with a structured blazer or a wide belt and ankle boots. The print gives me a Bohemian vibe with its intricate motifs.
I have added my favorite dark denim vest here. I like how it contrasts and yet adds a deep and dark layer to the look. The satchel bag compliments the vest here. The only pop of vibrant colour comes via the Brogues and the Bangles.
Call them Brogues or Oxfords they spell comfort and effortless chic. Essentially of European origin the Brogue as a shoe style has made a stylish come back in the last few years. It adds an androgynous element to an otherwise feminine outfit.
The OOTD is my ode to the mystery, depth and strength of a Woman.
Make up of the day – Metallic green smokey eye with metallic eyeliner with red lipcolour.
- Face – If you need to use a concealer under your eyes apply the same to even tone the skin. I have used a light base on my face – Mac Foundation for face and body and used my fingers to blend it well. Apply a light pink blush on your cheeks to give it a natural flush. I have used Lakme – Day sheer on the apple of my cheeks.
- Eyes – I have applied Maybelline Color Tattoo in 200 Ready Set Green evenly on the eyelid. I have then used Lakme Fantasy Shimmer eyeliner in the shade Astral Green and extended it to create a pointed end. I have then applied two coats of Maybelline Colossal Volume mascara on the lashes.
- Lastly I have tried to crush the myth that you cannot use a dark lip colour when you wear a dark eye shadow. I have applied a gorgeous shade of red by Lakme – Crimson Affair.
