A few weeks back Mumbai to Melbourne announced on our Facebook and Instagram its collaboration with The Craft Galleryto bring to you handmade bespoke products.
The Craft Gallery is the brain child of Akshaya Borkar where she promotes artists and their handmade products ranging from home decor to jewelry. She provides an e-commerce and marketing platform to budding artists through the power of social media.
Living away from India has made me more rooted to Indian traditions. Be it food, culture, festivals, celebrations or fashion I find myself wanting to read more, learn more, ask more questions and try to imbibe more of our traditions. I guess distance does make the heart grow fonder.
So when I saw this gorgeous clutch by Craft Village I fell a little in love with the simplicity and Indian-ness of it. The Craft Village works as a small cottage industry headed by entrepreneur Ketaki Matkar. She creates employment for 3-4 underprivileged women who have not had basic school education. She helps them with skill development while making them financially independent.
This clutch is made with a fabric called “Khana” which is a type of Pure cotton. The border is made from “Zari” fabric. You can order Craft Village products only through The Craft Gallery. Click here to check out their products.
You can check out the various color combinations available and Craft Village are also happy to customize to your needs. Customized , bespoke , hand made and affordable clutch is just a click away …So what are you waiting for !!
Outfit of the Day – Silk and Zari Tunic with High Waisted Palazzo Pants
- I am wearing a silk and zari kurta/ Tunic from Pantaloons. This was gifted by my Mom and it is one of my favourites.
- I have worn this tunic with high waisted silk Palazzo pants by Global Desi
- Palazzo pants are the trend of the season, team them with Indian tunics, with T’shirts , shirts or crop tops for some fab looks this season.
- I have then matched it with the Craft Village clutch and some gorgeous Chandbali earrings , a gold and oxblood ring and my most trusted peep toe pumps to complete the look.
