Black Ankle boots– Leather or Faux leather are quintessential in my wardrobe.
If you live in a state, city or country that has cooler winter seasons then it should definitely be in your list of must haves if you do not own one already. I normally go for comfort and basic styles when I buy black ankle boots as they are utilitarian. There are heaps of price ranges available in the market and buying them off season is the best idea as you get a good deal even with good brands.
Definitely try wearing the ankle boots with and without leggings/ tights to see how comfortable they are before you buy them. You do not want them to be too tight or loose and the heel can be whichever one you are most comfortable with. I prefer the wedge heel as I wear mine to work as well and I am always on my feet at work. You could also get boots with kitten heels or no heel if you walk or are on your feet at work.
I have styled these basic Black Faux Leather Boots– 4 different ways on the blog.
1) Monochrome in colourful Autumn
In this post I paired them with a polka dotted skater dress and black opaque leggings. Keeping the entire look monochrome I matched my outfit with my black ankle boots. One can easily wear this look to work in winters or while travelling.
An easy and chic look which can be taken from day to night.
2) Rebel without a Cause
In this post I went a bit rebellious and bohemian. I teamed a teal singlet with lots of silver jewellery a leather jacket and teamed it with my favourite Dhoti pants. A perfect combination of Indo- Western fusion. To complete the look I added the black boots which went well with the faux jacket and elevated the look. Wear this one to a party or to your college get together and be sure to be the Belle of the Ball.
3) Blanket cape for Winters
Capes and blanket capes can be tricky to style. Keeping the blanket cape the main focus of the outfit I styled it with skinny military green denim and a black and white blouse. To complete the look I added the black ankle boots. Since I was out and about they were comfortable to walk in and so stylish. Relaxed, comfortable and Totally Autumn- Winter fashion.
4) Denim Ripped and Flared
As the weather started to warm up a bit and spring seemed closer I got out my retro flared denim with rips. I added some more retro glam with the patchwork blazer. Obviously I completed the look with black boots.
An Androgynous yet feminine and retro look.
Black boots are a life saviour for me from Autumn through to Spring. Style them with coloured denim, flares, regular denim, skirts, dresses or with capes they blend in with everything. So next time you decide to go shopping for boots look out for the humble yet utilitarian pair of black ankle boots.
