When the weather warms up I love wearing lighter fabrics and flowing silhouettes that give my skin space to breathe. We shot this post in last week of November (2015) when the weather was a perfect 25 degrees C and the winds were cool. We decided to head out to catch up with friends for lunch. It was perfect to bring out and oldie but goldie gem – The Ruffled Grey Dress. Light chiffon fabric that skims the knees with gorgeous ruffles at the neckline makes this a spring-summer favourite of mine and I own this gem for more than 6 years now.
Neutral colours such as whites, blacks, greys and off-whites are a great base to build the rest of the outfit around. I was feeling particularly colourful on this day and decided to add as many colours through accessories, blazer and make-up to amp up the Grey dress.
I firstly added a bright orange geometric print blazer that gave it an instant pop to the look. Next I added tan Oxfords/ brogues both to maintain the colour balance as well as for comfort.
Next I added multi-coloured statement earrings with pops of yellow blue, purple and green and added my floral vintage heart ring to complete the look.
The make-up again played an important role to give the look some more pop. I added dull purple eye-shadow and kept the rest of the face simple with a swipe of some mineral powder to keep the oil at bay. Lots of mascara to open the eyes and a swipe of pink lipstick completed the Look of the Day.
