After a long stretched out Winter, Melbourne Summers are always welcome. November has been a warm month with temperatures reaching high 30’s and the first half of December has been sunny and warm too. If you haven’t already, then is definitely time to put those Winter Coats at the back of the Cupboard and hang them Winter Boots. Time to bring out the cottons and natural breathable fabrics to the fore. I wear colours through the year but if you are a traditionalist, then you would definitely equate summer with bright colours too.
Maybe it is the warmth that makes the depths of my soul happy, or its just the fun and happy vibe of Melbournians that is contagious. There is definitely a spring in my step in Summers. Do you love Summers just like I do !!
I realised I have been missing on Mumbai 2 Melbourne and have not had a fashion post on the blog for a while. So here I am with a look that you can recreate using existing items in your closet without breaking the bank.
I am calling ‘The Outfit of the Day’ post Boho Living Summer Loving !!
Three weeks back, I was catching up with my girls and as we were walking up the CBD streets we saw this really old Church where we shot some of these pictures along with an old rustic Door, that was a perfect backdrop to showcase my colourful outfit.

I bought these Bright orange tie and die harem pants from the street stalls in Phuket for AUD $5. Cottons are natural fabrics and let your skin breathe in hot weather. These pants just had me at the colour. You can get similar pants in Ishka or Tree of Life stores in Australia. In India, Thailand, Bali, Singapore you find them near the beach being sold on street stalls.
I teamed them with an orange Aztec printed white singlet which I have had in my closet for over 4 years now. You can easily wear them with a plain basic singlet or tank top. If you do not own one, having a tank top is a must have in your wardrobe as they very functional. So this season invest in one and they are easily available in stores like Cotton on, H & M, Uni Qlo in Australia. In India Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop or local street shopping hubs like Bandra Linking Road, Hill Road or Colaba Causeway would have heaps of tanks and in different varieties for you to choose from.

The true Boho feel of the look was enhanced by the addition of silver bangles and some mixed metal bangles and long dangling silver earrings. I have had these silver bangles in my wardrobe for more than 15 years now. They are probably the oldest jewellery I own. The earrings are a new buy from Lovisa this year. You will find lots of such silver earrings in Lovisa, Colette in Australia and street stalls in India.
To complete the outfit I added basic Beige pumps and a black fringe sling. My makeup is usually basic, lots of moisturiser and sunscreen topped with mineral powder to keep the oil away. Two coats of mascara to open the eyes and a swipe of bright orange lip colour called ‘So Chaud’ by Mac Cosmetics.
A perfectly easy Boho Chic look that can be created using existing basics from your wardrobe, that is sure to get you all the attention this Season.
