5 Must Have Red Lipsticks in Your Makeup Kit

Red Lipsticks, Mumbai 2 Melbourne

If you grew up as a 90’s kid then you would know Red lipstick was a huge trend then with our Mums and Aunts. As a kid I was fascinated with my Mum’s Red lipstick tube and wanted to get my hands on one. In my teenage years however brown lipsticks dominated the scene and hence I never really got on to the Red Lipstick bandwagon until way later.

There are a few Dos and Don’ts of buying and wearing Red Lipstick

♦ Choosing a Red lip colour that would suit your skin tone and skin undertone is extremely important. Hence the big thumb rule for buying a red lip colour is to try various shades before you buy the one that suits you perfectly.

♦ Moisturise your Lips at least 15 minutes before you wear red lip colour especially if you are wearing a Matte lipstick.

♦ Using a Lip Primer is also highly recommended. This helps to smoothen the lips and forms a great base to apply matte lipcolours.

♦ I would advise getting a lip liner in a similar shade and lining your lips before wearing the Red Lipstick. Normally red lipsticks tend to bleed and using a Lip liner can help prevent it from bleeding.

♦ Keeping the rest of your make up subtle and simple is a good idea when wearing a Red lip colour.

♦ Red Lipstick looks great if you keep your teeth pearly and white. So Dental hygiene is highly recommended. ( I am a little OCD about Teeth Brushing hence the tried and tested advise)
