Orange is definitely the new black on the block. Summer is all about brighter hues and softer lighter fabrics that skim the skin. I have said previously the warmer weather always adds a spring to my step. I often get asked questions about how to style brighter colors and look well put together.
A Little Orange Dress (LOD) without larger prints or plain Orange dress is a great base to start with since it would be easier to style. Orange and Blue are best friends when it comes to styling them together. Colour blocking always works when you are styling brighter hues as they pop. I wore a plain orange linen dress from Cotton on that was fitted at the bust and then fell straight ending just above the knee. I teamed it with a short dark blue denim jacket for a casual look. A Denim jacket should be a quintessential staple for spring- summer weather in your wardrobe. So if you do not have one then I suggest invest in one.
The dress being plain needed a statement necklace to balance the look. Silver jewelry always adds the touch of Boho-chic to any look. This long neck piece is a great street find from Hill Road Mumbai. The layered necklace is delicate yet makes a beautiful statement when worn with the orange hue. I teamed a silver and blue ring to complete the look.
Since we are already colour blocking with two solid hues it is a good idea to wear a neutral hue with it. I am wearing nudish olive ruffle ankle boots to complete the look. They do not take away any attention away from the outfit however make the look stand apart.
Keeping the hair side parted falling naturally into soft waves was a deliberate move to keep the hair fuss free. Similarly I am not much of a makeup aficionado. I usually hydrate my skin top it with mineral powder and two coats of mascara to open my eyes. I used a soft brown kohl pencil to lightly line my waterline and added a bright orange lip colour to match the colour of the dress.
